DiPP 2017

The Seventh International Conference on Digital Presentation and Preservation of Cultural and Scientific Heritage—DiPP2017 aims at presenting innovative results, research projects and applications in the field of digitisation, documentation, archiving, representation and preservation of global and national tangible and intangible cultural and scientific heritage. The main focus is to provide open access to digitised cultural heritage and to set up sustainable policies for its continuous digital preservation and conservation. The priority area is the digital presentation and preservation of cultural and historical objects under conditions of risk, including those from the Veliko Tarnovo region. The forum will demonstrate innovative technologies and prototypes, including digital repositories, digital archives, virtual museums and digital libraries, which result from established practices and achievements in the field. Representatives of public and specialised libraries, museums, galleries, archives, centres, both national and foreign research institutions and universities are invited to participate and exchange experiences, ideas, knowledge and best practices of the field.

There will also Workshop on Open Access to Scientific Publications, Data and Data Science, which will primarily focus on the following activities:

  • Open Access indicators;

  • Disseminate partners’ best practices;

  • Discuss research problems in the field;

  • Discuss the possibilities of establishing a network of open-access repositories;

  • Contribute to the problems of the harmonization of national legislation and practices; and

  • Discuss the possibilities of developing training courses for creators and managers of scientific digital repositories to ensure interoperability.

DiPP 2016

The Sixth International Conference on Digital Presentation and Preservation of Cultural and Scientific Heritage—DiPP2016 was held from 26 to 28 September 2016 in the Regional Museum of History and the P.R. Slaveykov Regional Public Library in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. DiPP2016 is organized under the patronage of UNESCO and is partly funded by the National Scientific Fund of Bulgaria. The forum was attended by more than 70 people, 35 papers and several national and international projects on digital preservation and presentation of cultural and scientific heritage were presented. The papers were published in a volume of proceedings of the conference as well as online at the official web site of the conference: http://dipp2016.math.bas.bg. DiPP 2015

The Fifth International Conference on Digital Presentation and Preservation of Cultural and Scientific Heritage—DiPP2015 was held from 28 to 30 September 2015 in the Regional Museum of History and the P.R. Slaveykov Regional Public Library in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. DiPP2015 is organized under the patronage of UNESCO and is partly funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria. The forum was attended by 90 people, 35 papers and several national and international projects on digital preservation and presentation of cultural and scientific heritage were presented. The papers were published in a volume of proceedings of the conference as well as online at the official web site of the conference: http://dipp2015.math.bas.bg. Special attention was given to the workshop session "Innovations and Culture - Regional Problems and Solutions", which promoted and accelerated the digitization and historical heritage in North+ Region.

The Fourth International Conference on Digital Presentation and Preservation of Cultural and Scientific Heritage—DiPP2014 was held from 18 to 21 September 2014 in the Regional Museum of History and the P.R. Slaveykov Regional Public Library in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. DiPP2014 is organized under the patronage of UNESCO and is partly funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria. The forum was attended by 88 people, 48 papers and several national and international projects on digital preservation and presentation of cultural and scientific heritage were presented. The papers were published in a volume of proceedings of the conference as well as online at the official web site of the conference: http://dipp2014.math.bas.bg. The web site also contains information on the objectives and subject areas of the conference, accompanying events, programme, programme committee, participants, etc.

DiPP2013

The Third International Conference on Digital Presentation and Preservation of Cultural and Scientific Heritage - DiPP2013 was held from 18 to 21 September 2013 in the Regional Museum of History and the P.R. Slaveykov Regional People's Library in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. The forum was attended by more than 90 people from all over the world. 33 papers and numerous national and international projects on digitisation and digital preservation of cultural and scientific heritage were presented. The forum was attended by more than 15 young researchers and PhD students, including 10 with papers. Leading experts in the field of digital presentation and preservation of the cultural and historical heritage from the United States, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Russia, Greece, Romania, Ukraine, etc., gave talks at the conference.

DiPP2013 is organized under the patronage of UNESCO and is partly funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria. Special attention was given to the session "Veliko Tarnovo - a candidate for European capital of culture 2019", which will present the initiative to promote the region on the European and international cultural scene.

International Jubilee Conference on Mathematical and Computational Linguistics

International Jubilee Conference on Mathematical and Computational Linguistics dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Department of Mathematical Linguistics, held in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 6 July 2007. The Conference was carried out jointly with the International Jubilee Conference New Trends in Mathematics and Informatics dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The papers discuss current trends and achievements in the field of Mathematical and Computational Linguistics and applications.
